Public Only has a Few Days Left to Vote in South Africa’s Biggest Ecommerce Awards

Online spending in South Africa is expected to reach R53-billion by the end of 2018. This is up from R37.1-billion in 2017, according to research conducted by PayPal, bucking the trend of the current economic climate.
There’s no doubt that the local ecommerce scene will continue to grow, but South African consumers need to know they can sufficiently trust and engage with retailers, for the industry to reach its full potential.

Upcoming awards shine light on ‘small but thriving’ e-commerce sector

 

Cape Town – While electronic commerce only makes up 2% of the overall retail sector in South Africa, it is growing faster than the traditional retail sector, with even the smallest niche e-commerce businesses developing game-changing ideas.

This is according to the founder and CEO of PriceCheck Kevin Tucker, who told Fin24 that the E-Commerce Awards would raise awareness of some of South Africa’s most innovative and vibrant businesses.
Tucker launched PriceCheck in 2006, and since then it’s grown to become South Africa’s biggest product discovery and comparison platform, showcasing an extensive range of products from SA’s favourite and most trusted stores. The site allows you to compare millions of products from thousands of shops and, since the end of 2016, consumers have been able to purchase directly through PriceCheck from trusted sellers.
